school grads who want to start work immediately after graduation,
and some of those jobs are probably right there in your hometown.
Manufacturers, construction companies, automotive service
garages, and other trades employers regularly visit career-tech
centers to meet students and make “career day” type presenta-
tions, and some even offer internship or “earn while you learn”
programs for high school students.
Consult with your guidance counselor to learn more about the
career-tech pathways that might open up these opportunities for
