Service technicians

Many of the trades jobs we’ve already discussed fall under the

umbrella of “service technicians,” including electricians, auto

mechanics, and wind turbine technicians. Many other types of

service technicians are part of the skilled trades as well, including

those who help install, repair, and maintain appliances, pools and

hot tubs, computers and network systems, and more.

Jewelers and precious metal workers

Working with jewelry, precious stones, and precious metals is an

art. It’s also a skilled trade. Jewelers and metalworkers often learn

their craft through trade schools, apprenticeships, or long-term

on-the-job training with experienced veterans. Median salaries fall

around $47,500 per year.
